World’s First Confucius Institute for Technological Innovation Signed to Set Up by ECUST and University of Huddersfield
At the invitation of Mr. Bob Klein, President of the University of Huddersfield, an ECUST delegation led by President Qu Jingping visit the University of Huddersfield to sign an agreement on the co-construction of Confucius Institute between ECUST and the University of Huddersfield, and to attend the Honorary Doctor Degree awarding ceremony of Chinese Ambassador to Britain, Liu Xiaoming, and to visit the Chinese Embassy in Britain from July 7th to July 11th, 2019.
The Agreement Signing Ceremony for co-constructing the Confucius Institute of Science and Technology Innovation at the University of Huddersfield was held in the Austler Building of Huddersfield University on July 8th, 2019. More than 50 people attended the signing ceremony, including Prince Andrew, Duke of York, Mr. Liu Xiaoming, Chinese Ambassador to the UK, Mr. Wang Yongli, Minister Counsellor for Education of Chinese Embassy, Mr. Zheng Xiyuan, Consul General of the Chinese Consulate in Manchester, and Mr. David Taylor, Vice President of Hudson University.
As the first Confucius Institute set up by ECUST, Confucius Institute of Science and Technology Innovation at the University of Huddersfield marks a great step forward on the road to running an international university. It also serves as an important window for ECUST to open up to Britain and Europe for cooperation and exchange relations.
