ECUST New Progress in Vitro Bio-Manufacturing Published in Green Chemistry and J. Agric. Food Chem.

Recently, the research group of Professor Li Zhimin, from the State Key Laboratory of Bioreactor Engineering, ECUST, has made the latest progress in cell-free biosynthesis by using multi-enzyme combined catalysis system. The related research papers were published in Green Chemistry entiled “Towards the Conversion of CO2 into Optically Pure n-carbamoyl-l-aspartate and Orotate by an in Vitro Multienzyme Cascade” and in Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry entitled “Efficient One-pot Synthesis of Cytidine 5’-Monophosphate Using an Extremophilic Enzyme Cascade System”.

Both of the above papers were first- authored by Chung Lin, a Masters student who is now a PhD candidate from the School of Bioengineering, ECUST, and were corresponding-authored by Professor Li Zhimin. The research was funded by the National Key Research and Development Plan Foundation(2019YFA0904300) and the Special Fund for Basic Scientific Research Expenses of Central State Universities (22221818014).
