ECUST Latest Research Progress on Ssurface Synthetic Chemistry Published on JACS

Recently, with a research focus on on surface synthesis and reaction mechanism, the research group of Professor Liu Peinian from School of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering, ECUST designed the precursor molecules of phenyl alkynyl chloride with C3 symmetry, realizing the stabilization of metal-organic intermediates through several pπ-dπ actions by using the high stability of bonds in alkynyl chloride functional groups. The related achievements have recently been published online in . Am. Chem. Soc. 2020, doi:10.1021/jacs.0c04311 under the title of “Atomic-Scale Visualization of Stepwise Growth Mechanism of Metal-Alkynyl Networks on Surfaces”.

The paper is first-authored by Shu Chenhui, a Postdoctoral candidate and He Yan, a Doctoral candidate, and correspondent-authored by Professor Liu Peinian. This research work was financilly supported by the National Science Fund for Outstanding Youth and the Major Research Program “Catalytic Science of Carbon-based Energy Conversion and Utilization”.
