ECUST Latest Progress in Circular Economy: Catalytic Conversion of Waste Plastics Published in Angewandte Chemie Int. Ed.
Recently, the research team of Professor Wang Yanqin from the School of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering, ECUST made a breakthrough in the field of circular economy: catalytic conversion of waste plastics, the research article of which was published in the international top journal Angewandte Chemie International Edition with the title of “Towards the Circular Economy: Converting Aromatic Plastic Waste Back to Arenes Over Ru/Nb2O5 Catalyst”.
The research article is first-authored by Jing Yaxuan, a Doctoral candidate of ECUST, and corresponding-authored by Professor Wang Yanqin and Professor Yan Ning of National University of Singapore. The article is helped by Professor Wang Haifeng of ECUST in DFT calculation and Professor Shinya Furukawa of Hokkaido University, Japan in X- ray absorption spectrum characterization. The research is financially supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Shanghai Major Science and Technology Projects, the Talent Recruitment Plan of Chinese Universities, the Basic Fund for Business Expenses of Central Universities, National University of Singapore and National Scholarship Council.
