Science publishes ECUST Latest Research Progress in Photovoltaic Field

Professor Hou Yu and Professor Yang Shuang from the research team of clean energy materials and devices of School of Materials, East China University of Science and Technology published their latest research article entitled “Graphene-Polymer Compensation of Perovskite Lattices for Durable Solar Cells” in Science on March 7th, 2025. This study found the key mechanism of perovskite photovoltaic instability-photo-mechanical induced decomposition effect, and put forward a new method of graphene-polymer mechanical reinforcement of perovskite materials enabling the T97 working life of the prepared solar cell device under standard solar illumination and high temperature reached a new record of 3670 hours, and the research article will provide a new solution for the industrial application of perovskite solar cells.

The research article is first-authored by Li Qing, a doctoral student of the School of Materials and co-corresponding authored by Professor Hou Yu and Professor Yang Shuang, with East China University of Science and Technology as the only academic affiliation. The research work has received careful guidance from Professor Yang Huagui of East China University of Science and Technology, and also received help from Associate Researcher Zheng Yichu of Shanghai University in theoretical simulation. The research work has been funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and Shanghai Basic Research Special Field.
